Crazy/long/great weekend! Had my first show with Charlie Ant Eaterr performing with me as my new live band at The Blue Parrot in Charleston on Friday night, and it felt great! The feeling of playing with a band on stage, there’s nothing else that touches it when putting on a show. I still love my sets when it’s just me and my iPod as my DJ, but there’s just something about playing with a full band, syncing in together and putting on a show as a collective, that’s unparalleled.

Saturday was spent with friends and family at a benefit show in my hometown of Logan. It was a fundraiser for the victims of the flooding that happened here a couple weeks back, and was held at the beautiful Coalfield Jamboree, a place I remember going to as a kid, and it still just as breathtaking. An old theater, that now holds local plays and concerts on occasion, mostly country, bluegrass, and gospel bands. This was definitely an eclectic line up, a lot of my friends were performing (Charlie Ant Eaterr, Beaver Knievel, Let The Guilty Hang, Tim Browning & The Widowmakers, etc…) along w/ other local acts that volunteered there time. It was one of the craziest mixes I’d ever seen, with a classic style rock band playing next to a bluegrass singer, next to a heavy metal band, it was great.

After the benefit, I played a couple songs with the Ant Eaterr boys at The Hot Cup, making for an impromptu acoustic set (Pictured below by Chris Hale). If you’re ever in the area, definitely stop by the coffee shop, the best eatery in our fair community by far, and always a chair open for anyone who wants to play a song, any time of day.

Up next a show at The Empty Glass in Charleston on April 21st!

Re-worked the Tumblr tonight.

I’ve added new “pages”, a new “theme”, and most of all I’m re-formatting the page to become more focused on my music and life, and am retitling it “Foz Rotten.com”

Hopefully I’ll be able to get the www.fozrotten.com domain and have it just come to this page in the near future, not sure how all the works, or how much it will cost, but am looking into it. Always wanted my own .com, now thanks to Tumblr it might actually come true!

NEW IDEA! Right now I’m at 6425 VOTES and still ranked #3 to play the Pittsburgh Date on the Vans Warped Tour! HOWEVER, I’m loosing footing fast so I’ve decided to spice things up!

I’m going to let you all set “Challenges” for me! Come up with some cool ideas for me to do, like write a song about a certain topic, make a video doing something, etc…and I’ll choose from them, and when I hit 10,000 VOTES I’ll do one!

ANNOUNCEMENT: Starting at the March 30th show, Charlie Ant Eaterr will be my new live band, backing me up on stage!

I was going to wait and do this as a surprise at the show, but we just got done with a great practice and I just can’t keep it secret anymore!
This is not to say I wont still be doing the occasional show with just me and my iPod as my DJ, but as much as we can we will be playing together. So come on out and see my first live solo show with my new backing band LIVE @ The Blue Parrot in Charleston, WV on Friday, March 30th!

Crazy weekend. Devastation all around, lots of friends and family effected by the flood. I can’t believe how lucky I was not to have my house hit when my neighborhood looks so crazy. With all this stuff going on it makes me feel weird asking for help for a “battle of the bands”, but if you know me, you know how much this means, to even play one day on the Warped Tour would be a dream come true.
